Lone Star Outfitters
harvested 2 mule deer bucks on our ranch in Colorado in
2008 and 6 Trophy Bucks in 2009. Mule Deer had not been
harvested for the prior 8 years allowing the herd size
to recover and the trophy bucks to mature. This has
allowed us to take bucks scoring 191 3/8, 168, 162, 158,
and 156 while leaving many trophy quality bucks for the
coming seasons. Neighboring ranches have also followed a
similar game management practice allowing the herds to
increase in size and quality. The upcoming hunting
season should provide opportunities for mature 190-210
inch mule deer bucks based on the high numbers of mature
bucks left on the ranch after this past season.

Lone Star Outfitters offers
private land mule deer hunting on 10,000 acres in
northern New Mexico; Unit 56. We have been hunting this
ranch for antelope for several years and have identified
a mule deer herd with numerous quality bucks. This ranch
had not been hunted for mule deer in many years and
offers a chance at the buck of a lifetime. In 2009
Trophy Bucks scoring 180 inches and 168 inches were
harvested along with 2 management bucks.
These five day hunts are
with two hunters per guide. Meals & accommodations are
at the hunter’s expense in nearby Raton, NM.
